I wanted to be able to play on my old PlayStation again, which I couldn't for about 15 years, if not more, because I once spilled malt beer on it and didn't clean it thoroughly right away and unknowingly messed up the laser calibration later on when doing so. I could play PSX games on my PS3, but my all time favorite title is WipEout 2097, and while I did beat it back in the day with the classic, non-analogue controller, I've since licked the blood that is the NeGcon. If you just want to play the games, download an emulator. If you want to use real hardware and know which end of the soldering iron gets hot without touching it first, it's certainly a good way. That depends on what one is trying to, and is able to do. I don't even like the whole AI Neural Networks scheme used to generate HQ textures for older games because it changes their look to something arbitrary (the examples I saw looked like oil paintings by Vincent van Gogh) and I want the real thing, even if it's "ugly" to others. If I wanted my games to be modern, I wouldn't play retro to begin with. I don't care about "enhancements" provided by emulation. I love the original hardware and I refurbished a 1990 Trinitron just to have them in the exact way they were designed to be played.

PS3 - pretty much the same emulation quality as on PSP, but everything is upscaled (no way to play in real 240p).įree emulators: XEBRA and Mednafen are very good, but they will never sound and look exactly like PS1 (many people won't care about the minutiae, though).

PSP - very good for all official PlayStation Network releases, can be outputted in 240p to external monitors if you have the proper PSP model. bin solution for PS2 uses a horrible emulator as the PS1 chip within PS2 is blocked when you're booting disc images. PS2 - pretty good, but only if your laser is still working since the PS1.

You will find instructions on how to proceed.PS Classic - absolute garbage, not worth playing on it even for free as it uses an outdated version of PCSX on a severely underpowered SoC which cannot maintain proper framerates. If you have information or covers that would complete this entry, please feel free to contribute them by clicking the CONTRIBUTE link in the menu on the left. When more accurate information or covers are obtained, the entry will be updated adding the missing information. We couldn't find some of the information and covers for this game. Thanks to BADSECTOR for providing the game covers. Testing other emulators/plugins is up to you. We provide you with one working set-up so that you may get the game up and running, hassle-free. There are others that will work (better or worse) for your particular hardware. NOTE: This is not the only possible combination of plugins.

By analyzing the music being played, the game creates the level you are playing in real-time and forces you to navigate that level. The soundtrack is used to generate the game levels. Japanese band Laugh and Peace provides this game with some of it's soundtrack. Vibri skips around along the eponymous vib ribbon and you have to control Vibri until the end, dodging obstacles to rack up as many points as you can. Your rabbity character, Vibri, is composed of some fairly basic geometric shapes.
